However these three factors will continue to dominate international student decision-making into <strong>2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The \u201cBig Four\u201d are losing ground<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US still attract the most interest, but their share is slipping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Over <strong>50% of agents report declining interest in Canada<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nearly <strong>half say the same about the US<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The US saw the sharpest drop in demand between 2024\u201325<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, interest is <strong>rising<\/strong> for:<br>&#8211; Germany<br>&#8211; Malaysia<br>&#8211; China<br>&#8211; Japan<br>&#8211; UAE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Visa Cost<\/strong><br>Students are weighing not just <em>where they can get a visa<\/em>, but <em>whether they can afford to live, work, and stay<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work rights<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>Study abroad is a serious financial investment. Families are increasingly focused on <strong>return on investment<\/strong>, driven by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Employability and in-demand skills<br>&#8211; In-study work and placements<br>&#8211; Post-study work rights and migration pathways<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Destinations with <strong>clear, predictable employment pathways<\/strong> are gaining a competitive edge &#8211; work rights <strong>are rated at 7 out of 10.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Policy clarity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The survey highlights growing uncertainty in traditional markets:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; UK: Graduate Route reduced to <strong>18 months from 2027<\/strong>, with possible further restrictions<br>&#8211; US: Increased scrutiny of post-study employment pathways and enforcement actions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In contrast, <strong>New Zealand and parts of Europe<\/strong> are actively promoting clearer work-experience options \u2014 and it\u2019s paying off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Role of agents<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The survey also reinforces the <strong>expanded role of reputable agents<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>61%<\/strong> provide career guidance before enrolment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>53%<\/strong> support students during study<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>49%<\/strong> assist after graduation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bottom line:<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>Destinations, providers, and regulators that fail to address <strong>cost pressure, visa certainty, and employment outcomes<\/strong> will continue to lose
