From then until the end of November, <\/span><b>3,557 student visa refusal appeals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were lodged\u2014a record high for such a short period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s what the data reveals:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>67% of appeals were successful<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with cases sent back to the Immigration Department for further processing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>16% were unsuccessful<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and another 16% of applicants withdrew their cases.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means that <\/span><b>nearly 70% of these decisions by the Immigration Department were found to be flawed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, leaving thousands of students in limbo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And the backlog? It&#8217;s shocking.
