The new requirements are designed to ensure that international students have sufficient financial resources to support themselves during their stay in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Summary of new funding evidence requirements for student visa applications from 1 October 2023:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Primary applicant: AUD 24,505<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spouse: AUD 8,574 (35%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Child: AUD 3,670 (15%)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">School fees<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Course fees for the first 12 months less any fees already paid<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Travel expenses<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Steps to check if you need to provide funds:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use the Document Checklist tool on the Immigration website to check if you are required to provide financial evidence: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/visas\/web-evidentiary-tool\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/immi.homeaffairs.gov.au\/visas\/web-evidentiary-tool<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are identified as needing to provide financial evidence, you must provide this at the time of application.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are not required to provide financial evidence, you do not need to do anything at the time of application. You may be able to appeal the decision, but you will need to provide additional evidence to support your appeal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Tips for submitting strong financial evidence<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are some tips for submitting strong financial evidence for your student visa application:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure that your funding evidence is recent.
