Most agents are already using AI in some form. Researching visa criteria. Structuring submissions. Reviewing documents. Summarising legislation. The efficiency gains are real.
The question is not whether to use AI. It is this:

What is actually in a client file
If you are using free or unsecured AI tools and uploading client information, you may be exposing sensitive data beyond your control. Client files in a migration practice are not generic business data. They contain some of the most sensitive personal information that exists:
Passport details and identity documents
Full visa history and immigration records
Personal and family addresses
Family composition and dependent details
Financial information and bank statements

Do not upload sensitive documents into public or free tools
Passports, bank statements, and identity documents should not be processed through general-purpose consumer AI tools regardless of convenience.
Look for tools with clear privacy policies and data isolation
If the privacy policy is unclear about how your data is stored, used, or shared — treat it as a risk. Ambiguity is not a safeguard.
Use AI embedded within your own systems or secure platforms
The gold standard is AI that operates inside your workflow — not a separate tool you paste data into. AI that sits within a secure, purpose-built environment keeps client data where it belongs.
