A practitioner posted 10 things she needed from AI. We had already built all of them.
214 reactions. 133 comments. And every single one said: yes, this is exactly what I need too.
Most AI tools for regulated practitioners have the same problem. They sit outside your practice. They do not know what happened in your last consultation. They cannot tell you which deadline is next on a specific file. And your client data goes somewhere you cannot fully account for.
A solo practitioner put this into words better than any product review could. She posted on LinkedIn. 214 reactions. 133 comments. It was not a complaint. It was a specification.
She listed 10 things she needed from AI inside her practice. Every comment below was some version of: yes, this is exactly what I need too.
“What I really want is an AI assistant that stays within my system and can work across it, without stealing my data and IP.”Solo practitioner, LinkedIn
She closed with a line that stayed with me: “I worry AI developers are trying to build a substitute when it might be a lot more helpful to build assistants for the human professionals.”
I am a registered migration agent. I have been running my own practice for over 20 years. Eight years ago I started building Educli, not to sell it but because the practice management software available to RMAs was not good enough. We built it for ourselves first. Migration Services, our migration practice, runs on Educli in production today. Every client file, every consultation note, every deadline, every invoice.
When I read that practitioner’s post, I recognised every item on her list. Not because they are clever product ideas. Because they are exactly the problems we spent eight years solving.
The 10-point wish list. And what we built.
Here is every item from her post, mapped directly to what Educli already does for registered migration agents.
Why most AI tools miss this entirely
The reason most AI tools do not deliver what practitioners need is not capability. It is architecture. They sit outside the practice management system. They access files through connectors. They do not know what happened in the matter last week, who said what in the consultation, or what the agent agreed to do next.
The AI Practice Assistant in Educli is not a chatbot layered onto the outside. It has access to the client file, the consultation notes, the task list, the document checklist, and the case history. It works within the context of the matter because it lives inside the system that manages the matter.
We know this works because we run it ourselves. Migration Services processes active migration files on Educli every day. The AI features were not built for a demo. They were built because we needed them for our own practice and could not find anything that did the job.
Every action taken inside Educli is timestamped and locked into a tamper-evident audit trail. Consultation notes, document uploads, advice records, status changes. This is not just good practice. It is the evidence OMARA assesses when a complaint is made. The PROOF Engine exists because I went through an OMARA investigation myself. I built the thing I wish I had.
That post got 214 reactions because practitioners already knew the problem. AI vendors are solving the wrong thing. They are building substitutes for professional judgement when what regulated professionals need is an assistant that handles the surrounding work so they can focus on the judgement that only they can provide.
Eight years of building this. One in-house practice running it. The architecture was always the same: the AI lives inside the practice, not alongside it.
