Subclass 485 Visa Fee Increase – Effective Today (1 March 2026)

Big change for international graduates planning post-study work in Australia

What’s changed?
The Australian Government has increased Temporary Graduate (Subclass 485) visa fees, with higher charges now applying to most applicants.

New fees (standard applicants):
– Main applicant: $4,600
– Secondary applicant (18+): $2,300
– Secondary applicant (under 18): $1,160

This is a significant jump from the previous flat-fee structure.

Applicants holding passports from specified Pacific countries (e.g. Fiji, PNG, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu) may qualify for concessional fees.

What hasn’t changed?
– Post-study work rights remain the same
– Eligibility criteria are unchanged
– The Subclass 485 pathway still exists

This sudden change made the sc485 post-study visa in Australia more expensive.
