This is a written agreement between the above mentioned student and City Institute.
Credit Transfer is a process that provides credit for a unit/s of competency (UoC) previously achieved at another training organisation or via another qualification. A UoC is a nationally recognised guidelines and standards against which a participant receives training and assessment to meet industry requirements and performance standards.
You may be awarded a credit transfer if the study already undertaken is the same UoC as City Institute’s UoC within the qualification you are applying.
You may decrease the time for the course completion you are eligible for credit transfer. For example, applicants who have completed a Diploma of Business from another provider may be granted credit in City Institute’s Diploma of Management.
You may be eligible for credit if you have achieved competency for your formal study or previous recognition of prior learning from a registered training organisation (RTO) or tertiary institution in Australia or overseas. If your qualification was completed 10 years ago or more please contact us for your eligibility to apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL). An applicant’s eligibility for RPL or credit transfer does not guarantee a successful admission in a course or qualification of study at City Institute.
Yes, any student seeking credit transfer needs to lodge an application, including City Institute students transferring to another City Institute course.
If you have applied for admission to complete a qualification at City Institute you can apply for a credit transfer in that course. However, for some courses, credit applications will only be assessed once the applicant has received an offer of admission to the course. Please ensure that you lodge your application for credit no later than two weeks prior to the commencement of the study period in the new qualification sought.
Before we can grant you a credit transfer, you must provide evidence of the UoC in an academic transcript from another RTO. Applicants will be required to show original copies of the relevant academic transcript to the Admissions Manager of Student Services Officer in person to certify the document’s authenticity. If the evidence requirement cannot be provided in person due to distance, please contact the Admissions Manager.
Please attach photocopies of the relevant academic transcript within a qualification or Statement of Attainment to support your application regarding recognition of the UoC for a credit transfer. Do not attach originals of your formal documents.
