SHEV – Qualifying for a different visa
Be employed in a SHEV designated regional area, or
Studied full time in a SHEV regional area, or
Combination of work and study.
You must not have received Centrelink during this time.
You do not have to live in this area, you only need to work and/or study there.
Your work can be full-time, part-time, casual, seasonal, etc.
To get a different visa after holding a SHEV, you must have completed on of the options below for a period of 3.5 years (42 months).
Visas after SHEV
Partner Visa – if you have an Australian citizen or permanent resident girlfriend or wife
Employer Sponsored visa – if you have an employer willing to sponsor you in a job. For many of the employer sponsored visas, you will need to have work experience in a good job – like a mechanic or surveyor. If you set up your own business, you may also be able to have your business sponsor you.
Skilled Visa – this is a visa based on points. The people with the highest points will get the visa. Points are based on things like age, education, work experience, level of English. You also need to have a skilled job – like a mechanic or surveyor.
Student Visa – but this will be very expensive for you.
There are many visas available, but you must qualify. I believe the best visas for you would be:
