De Montfort University (DMU) in the United Kingdom has open enrollment for sport scholarships of up to £ 6,000 in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in any field.
Financial assistance even covers physiotherapy and private health insurance. Interested parties should apply by September 8th.
DMU Sport Scholarship offers students the opportunity to develop both academic and sports performance while studying at De Montfort University, located in the city of
Leicester. Fellows will have access to support and individual conditioning and strengthening sessions and will be able to attend a variety of workshops and events on athletic performance.
There are two basic prerequisites to qualify for DMU Sport Scholarships:
- Already have been admitted and enrolled in a DMU undergraduate or postgraduate degree for the 2019/20 school year (ie you will first need to go through the university selection process);
- Compete at a high level of representation and be able to demonstrate your passion and commitment to your sport. The University knows that there are huge variations in performance and representativeness between sports, so it is open to discussing your case by email if you find it necessary.
If you have these two prerequisites, you can apply for scholarship here
However, the amount awarded will depend on other criteria. The scholarships are classified from Tier 1 to Tier 4:
Tier 1: For students representing their sport nationally and internationally – individual value of £ 6,000;
Tier 2: For students involved with a National Development Pathway program – individual value of £ 3,500;
Tier 3: For students who play constantly on a regional team and represent the region in national competitions – individual value of £ 1,600;
Tier 4: For outstanding students in your country or region who are helping to improve your club level – individual value of £ 1,100.
Part of the scholarship amount is granted in cash, in the form of a bank deposit, and the rest will be applied on athletic support, insurance and physiotherapy. The DMU Sport Scholarships is valid for only one year, the student will need to re-enroll to continue to receive assistance throughout their studies.
Your degree can be in any area of study, without necessarily being related to sports. As for its athletic activities, the University accepts applications from those who practice any Olympic, Paralympic and other sports on the BUCS and Commonwealth list.
